The 6th Athens Investment Forum took place on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the Athens Concert Hall, consistently observing its annual meeting with both the business and the political world.
The Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) and Vertical Solutions SA organized the Conference for the 6th in a row.

Γεννήθηκε στις 6 Νοεμβρίου του 1972, στην Αθήνα. Είναι απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας της Φιλοσοφικής Σχολής Αθηνών. Από το 1993 και μετά το θάνατο των γονέων του, αναλαμβάνει τη διεύθυνση των εκδόσεων «ΓΕΩΡΓΙΑΔΗΣ-ΒΙΒΛΙΟΘΗΚΗ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ». Το 1994 ίδρυσε το Κέντρο Ελευθέρων Σπουδών «ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΑΓΩΓΗ».
Στις 22 Ιουνίου 2009 παντρεύτηκε την Ευγενία Μανωλίδου, με την οποία έχουν αποκτήσει δύο γιους, τον Αθανάσιο-Περσέα (2005) και τον Αναστάσιο-Αλκαίο (2014).
Από τον Δεκέμβριο του 2003 έως τον Αύγουστο του 2007 υπήρξε Εκπρόσωπος Τύπου του ΛΑ.Ο.Σ. Στις Εθνικές Εκλογές του 2007, κατέλαβε την πρώτη θέση στην Β’ εκλογική περιφέρεια των Αθηνών. Στις Εθνικές Εκλογές του 2009 επανεκλέγεται στην Β’ Αθηνών με τον ΛΑ.Ο.Σ.
Στις 11 Νοεμβρίου 2011 τοποθετήθηκε Υφυπουργός Ανάπτυξης με αρμοδιότητα την ναυτιλία και την αλιεία στην Κυβέρνηση του κ. Λουκά Παπαδήμου. Στις 11 Φεβρουαρίου 2012 παραιτήθηκε από το κυβερνητικό του αξίωμα και στις 17 Φεβρουαρίου προσχώρησε στη Νέα Δημοκρατία, έχοντας παραιτηθεί από τη βουλευτική του έδρα.
Στις Εθνικές Εκλογές του Ιουνίου 2012 εξελέγη βουλευτής με τη Νέα Δημοκρατία στην Β΄ περιφέρεια Αθηνών. Στις 25 Ιουνίου 2013 τοποθετήθηκε Υπουργός Υγείας στην Κυβέρνηση του κ. Αντώνη Σαμαρά και περίπου έναν χρόνο μετά, κοινοβουλευτικός εκπρόσωπος της ΝΔ.
Στις Εθνικές Εκλογές της 25ης Ιανουαρίου 2015 εξελέγη βουλευτής της Νέας Δημοκρατίας στην Β΄ περιφέρεια Αθηνών, με 73,959 ψήφους. Στις Εθνικές Εκλογές της 20ης Σεπτεμβρίου 2015 εξελέγη βουλευτής με τη Νέα Δημοκρατία στην Β΄ περιφέρεια Αθηνών.
Στις 28 Σεπτεμβρίου 2015, ο Άδωνις Γεωργιάδης ανακοίνωσε την υποψηφιότητα του για την Προεδρία της Νέας Δημοκρατίας. Στις 22 Δεκεμβρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε ο πρώτος γύρος των εσωκομματικών εκλογών, στον οποίο ο Άδωνις Γεωργιάδης συγκέντρωσε 46.065 ψήφους που αναλογεί στο 11,4%.
Στις 18 Ιανουαρίου 2016, με απόφαση του Προέδρου της Νέας Δημοκρατίας κ. Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη, ορίστηκε ένας εκ των δύο Αντιπροέδρων της Νέας Δημοκρατίας με αντικείμενο τον έλεγχο του κοινοβουλευτικού έργου.
Στις 9 Ιουλίου 2019, ο Άδωνις Γεωργιάδης ορκίστηκε Υπουργός Ανάπτυξης και Επενδύσεων στην Κυβέρνηση του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη.

Dimitris Papastergiou was born in 1973 in Trikala.
He graduated from the Polycladic Lyceum of Trikala and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA (National Technical University of Athens). At the same time, he attended journalism courses, while he maintains strong ties with technology and the internet, a relationship that was strengthened at the Multimedia Laboratory of NTUA.
In 2001 he built and presented, together with a group of his colleagues, the first integrated website for the Prefecture of Trikala, 3kala.gr.
Since 2002 he has been practicing the profession of Electrical and Computer Engineer in the city of Trikala. He was involved in studies and construction of private electromechanical projects and the creation of software programs. In 2007 he entered the field of renewable energy and has constructed more than 300 private renewable energy projects.
His involvement in the community began in 2002, with his election to the City Council. He was re-elected in 2006, and in 2014 he was elected Mayor of Trikkaion and member of the Board of Directors of KEDE. He was re-elected Mayor in 2019 and, in the same year, he was elected President of the KEDE.
He is married to the engineer Soula Brakis and is the happy father of Faye, Kostas and Nikos.
From June 2023, he is Minister of Digital Governance in the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Alexandra Sdoukou
Alexandra Sdoukou is a lawyer, permanent employee at the Management Organisation Unit of Development Programmes (MOU S.A.) under the Ministry of Economy and Development. Since 2004, she is working as legal advisor in the public administration in various positions at the Ministries of Economy, Development and Environment, Energy & Climate Change.
She has been specialised as energy policymaker, working with all Energy Ministers from 2007 to 2015. From 2012 to 2015, she was Head of Cabinet at the Minister of Environment, Energy & Climate Change, competent to develop policy formulation, implementation and monitoring on a wide range of energy and environmental projects.
From October 2017, she was Advisor to the President of Nea Dimokratia on energy and natural resources.
Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Democritus University of Thrace, a Master’s Degree LLM in European Commercial Law from the University of Bristol U.K., and a M.Sc. in International & Economic studies from the Athens University of Economics & Business.

Konstantinos Skrekas comes from Megarhi, Trikala. He is married to Eirini Karagouni and has two daughters, Alexandra and Sophia.
He holds a Degree in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Technology), and an M.Sc. in Construction Management from the University of Birmingham, UK.
After completing his studies, he worked in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector in managerial positions. He is the co-founder of a company operating in the FMCG sector and held the posisition of CEO for 15 years.
In the general election of 6 May 2012 he was elected Member of the Greek Parliament (MP) for the Constituency of Trikala with the New Democracy Party. He was re-elected on 17th June of the same year.
On the 25th of January 2015 he was elected Member of the Greek Parliament (MP), receiving the largest number of electoral votes among candidates from all political parties, in the Constituency of Trikala. He was re-elected in the elections on 20th September of the same year.
In the general elections on 7th July 2019 he was elected Member of the Greek Parliament for the Constituency of Trikala.
During his terms of office in the Hellenic Parliament he has been a member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the Standing Committee on Production and Trade, the Special Permanent Committee on Research and Technology and the Special Permanent Committee on Environmental Protection.
He was also Shadow Minister for the Environment and Energy Sector for the New Democracy Party from January 2016 – June 2019.
He was appointed Minister of Development and Competitiveness from October 2014 until February 2015.
On 9th July 2019 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, being specifically responsible for the Common Agriculture Policy (CAP).
On 5th January 2021 he was appointed Minister of the Environment and Energy. He speaks English and French.

He was elected MP in Fthiotida with Nea Demokratia political party on the election of 2007, 2009, 2012 (May and June), 2015 (January and September) and July 2019.
From October 2009 until June 2012 he was Deputy Head of the Economic Policy Sector of Nea Demokratia.
From June 2012 he was appointed as Alternate Minister of Finance, and held his position until the election of January 2015.
From February 2015 until June 2019 he was the Head of ND Economic Policy Sector.
From July 2019 he was appointed as Minister of Finance.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Management School, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London, and a Doctor’s degree (PhD in Banking) from the Department of Banking and Finance, Cass Business School, City University.

Nikos Tsafos serves as the chief energy adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece. A leading authority on energy, Nikos has worked with companies, banks and governments in over 30 countries on some of the world’s most complex energy projects. Most recently, he held the Schlesinger Chair for Energy and Geopolitics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS); he also served on the Climate Advisory Committee of the Export Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). From 2016 to 2019, he was a lecturer at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
Nikos has testified before Congress, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, the Canadian House of Commons, and the Alaska State Legislature. He has written extensively on energy, including for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, EURACTIV, the National Interest, and others. Nikos is also a regular commentator on current affairs: he has been quoted in The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Bloomberg, and he has appeared on CNN, NBC, the BBC, NPR, Al Jazeera, and other leading media outlets.

Anthimos Amanatidis is a mechanical engineer, graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds an MSc in Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development, as well as an MSc in Energy Production and Management.
Since 2010 he is an executive of ERGOSE S.A., overseeing the preparation of tenders and managing the construction of major infrastructure projects and electromechanical facilities. In 2008 he was a consultant for one of the Greek State’s real estate company, ETAD (www.etad.gr), responsible for the preparation of project tenders and tenders regarding the concession and operation of ETAD branches in Northern Greece. Maria Rita Galli is the CEO of DESFA (Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator). Until recently she held the position of the Executive Vice President Business Development & Asset Management at Snam S.p.A, a leading global energy infrastructure company and was the Chairman of the SENFLUGA Energy Holdings S.A., a consortium controlling 66% of DESFA's share capital.
Ms. Galli started her career at Eni in 1997, as a graduate in nuclear engineering from the Milan Polytechnic University. Mrs. Maria Ioannidou is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Country Manager for Hellenic Duty Free Shops, 100% subsidiary of Avolta (former Dufry AG).
She holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University and an MBA from ALBA.
At the first steps of her career, since 1997 and for 16 years, she has held several senior positions in Alpha Bank, at Treasury, Corporate Banking, Syndications and Wholesale Banking.
In 2013, when Avolta acquired Hellenic Duty Free Shop, she joined the Avolta Group as the CFO of the Greek Subsidiary (HDFS).
She left HDFS in 2019 to join Dimand, during its growth phase and its listing route (listed completed July 2022), holding the CFO role for three years, and the role of Chief Business Development Officer for almost a year.
She returned in HDFS in 2023 this time as the CEO, when she was chosen to join forces with the Group in order to take the new combined Avolta (Dufry/Autogrill) Company, to the next level, i.e. providing a holistic travel experience to travelers both in travel retail but also in F&B.
She is the mother of three sons; she is a devoted runner and holds a black belt in kung fu since 2015.

Vassilis Kazas is the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton Greece and brings multiple years of professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant. He is one of the founding members of Grant Thornton Greece and has been a member of the Board of Governors of Grant Thornton International Ltd. for several years.
During his extensive experience as a Certified Public Accountant and Management Consultant, Vassilis Kazas has conducted audits in all the major business segments, such as Banking & Credit institutions, Industries, Telecommunications, Energy, etc. He has also been the leader of major, successfully completed and delivered projects in the Public Sector. Vassilis Karamouzis (born 1977) was appointed General Manager of Corporate and Investment Banking in February 2020. He joined NBG in September 2017, as Assistant General Manager of Corporate and Investment Banking.
He worked for eight years (2009-2017) at HSBC in various managerial positions: he started at HSBC in Greece as Head of Global Market Sales and Debt Capital Markets for Greece and Cyprus. Later on he moved to HSBC in London, where he worked as Head of Structured Finance Origination for Southern Europe and Capital Financing for Greece and Cyprus, and, finally, as Managing Director, Member of EMEA Financing Management and Head of Investment Banking Greece and Cyprus.
He started his professional career in 2001 at Deutsche Bank in London, where he stayed until mid-2009. Initially he worked in Hedge Fund Sales, while in the period 2006-2009 he held the position of Head of FX and Commodities Sales for Greece and Middle East.

John Karydas is the Chief Executive Officer of the Renewables and Battery Storage Business Unit of Copelouzos Group.
Copelouzos Group was founded in 1973 and today has evolved to a fully integrated business development organization, servicing key industrial and technological sectors in Greece and abroad. One important business sector of the Group is energy with the core businesses within this sector being the marketing of natural gas, electricity production and trading, renewable energy sources and energy storage. Copelouzos Group has been a pioneer in the RES with an extensive portfolio of renewable energy assets and the first who has received Production licenses for the operation of battery energy storage systems in the country. The Group has also been developing the pioneer project of the electrical interconnection between Greece and Egypt for the bidirectional transfer of green energy.
John Karydas has been Member of the Board of Directors of Athens International Airport from June 2009 until November 2012, Member of the Supervisory Board of Pulkovo Airport, St. Petersburg from February 2010 until August 2011. From 2005 until 2011 he also held the position of the Chief Operating Officer of Copelouzos Group. He is the Managing Director or an Executive Member of the Board of major companies of the Group developing and operating RES, energy storage and electrical interconnection projects.
He received an M.B.A. degree from Bath University in the UK, an M.Sc. in Computing Science from Oxford University and a B.Sc. (with First Class Honors) in Computer Science with Mathematics from London University. He is a graduate of Athens College.

Ms. Vasiliki Stamatopoulou joined Depa International Projects S.A., in 2020 as Corporate Strategy Development Director. Within her 11 years of experience, Ms.Stamatopoulou combines practical construction experience with commercial and regulatory knowledge contributing to the development of complex infrastructure projects. Through her critical role as a consultant, designer and supervisor, she has gained specialized experience in the field of natural gas and renewable energy. She has also worked as a commercial and management executive in a multinational company, gaining knowledge of corporate governance.
Since December 2012 and onwards, she has worked and participated from different positions in a wide variety of energy projects and consulting companies. Over her more than 11 years of experience, Ms. Stamatopoulou has gained specialized experience in the oil & gas, renewable energy and construction supervision sectors.
In 2013, she was a member of the team that worked on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for a large gas pipeline interconnector. In 2016, Ms. Stamatopoulou participated in the construction of the TAP pipeline project, where she worked as an environmental supervisor. She has extensive experience in the compliance of large infrastructure projects with environmental and social standards imposed by international banks. Since 2018, Ms. Stamatopoulou entered the renewable energy sector for the supervision of onshore wind farms construction.
Through her managerial positions, Ms. Stamatopoulou acts as an advisor to the members of the Board of Directors, promoting innovative solutions and ensuring the achievement of growth objectives.
She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, and she is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2013. Theodore E. Tryfon was born in Mytilini – Lesvos. He graduated from Athens College of Greece and earned his BSc in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Southampton in UK. He continued his studies by earning an MBA from City University of London Business School.
In 1992 he joined Elpen Pharmaceutical Co. and presently is the Vice President and co/CEO of ELPEN Group.

George Vilos has long experience in the fields of strategic, commercial and business development. Eleni Vrettou has been the CEO of Attica Bank since September 2022, with more than 20 years of international experience in Banks, in Greece and abroad, specializing in corporate and investment banking. Mrs Vrettou held the position of Executive General Manager, Chief of Corporate and Investment Banking at Piraeus Bank Group during 2019-2022. Before that, she had worked for 14 years at HSBC Bank Plc in Greece and the United Kingdom, promoted to Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking Greece. She also held the position of Chief Strategy and Investor Relations Officer at Lamda Development.

He is a graduate of the Department of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete (TUC) and is specialized in Operational Research.
In September 2019, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of DEPA at a crucial turning point for the company in view of the privatization process. Under his leadership, both the privatization preparatory stage and the corporate transformation in 3 distinct companies (DEPA Commercial, DEPA International Projects, DEPA Infrastructure) were successfully completed. At the same time, the renegotiation of all supply contracts was implemented, increasing, thus, the company’s competitiveness. All the aforementioned steps enabled DEPA to upgrade to an integrated energy company with competitive products, and to proceed to the implementation of critical decisions which helped key projects move forward. Today, DEPA Commercial has significant international activity through projects, such as the Eastern Mediterranean Pipeline, the IGB Interconnector, the Poseidon Pipeline Project, as well as the company’s participation in the construction of the new LNG Terminal in Alexandroupolis - all of which have showcased the strategic role of the company in the energy landscape of the wider region of Southeastern Europe and the East Mediterranean.
At the same time, Mr. Xifaras has been leading the effort to expand the company's activities through the use of state-of-the-art smart technologies (Small Scale LNG, Remote CNG), the spread of the use of CNG as a vehicle fuel through FISIKON refueling stations network, and the promotion of natural gas as a marine fuel with innovative development programs such as Poseidon Med II, BlueHUBS and SUPERGREEN. His vision includes the company’s penetration in RES and other reliable alternative energy sources markets, such as hydrogen and biomethane.
Today, Mr. Xifaras is the Vice Chairman of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Secretary of the Greek National Committee in the World Energy Council (WEC), as well as the Greek National Representative in the WEC. He is one of the 18 Co-Chairs of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance and member of the Governing Board of Eurogas.
Moreover, Mr. Xifaras has extended experience as a researcher and business consultant and has been appointed in leadership positions, in both private and public sector organizations. He has served as Special Advisor to the Leadership of the Ministries of Development (2005-2006) and the Environment, Energy and Climate Change (2013). He has also held the position of Director of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Development, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, responsible for the management of the implementation and funds absorption of the NSRF 2007-2013, as well as, the design of the new Programming Period 2014-2020. Later that year, he was appointed CEO of the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator, DESFA SA. Under his leadership, DESFA has demonstrated significant achievements in the fields of economic efficiency, while achieving also the implementation of a series of projects for the development and upgrade of the Natural Gas Transmission Network and the LNG facility in Revithoussa.

Founded in 1999, PRIME is a leading international ship‐management and ship‐owning company with its headquarters in Athens, employing 130 highly skilled and educated professionals ashore and over 1,500 experienced sea‐going personnel. Ο Οργανισμός Ανάπτυξης Κρήτης Α.Ε. (O.A.K. A.E.) ιδρύθηκε τον Ιούνιο του 2013 (ΦΕΚ 1473/18-06-2013), με τη συγχώνευση των Οργανισμών Ανάπτυξης Δυτικής και Ανατολικής Κρήτης (Ο.Α.ΔΥ.Κ. & Ο.ΑΝ.Α.Κ.) και την μεταφορά των αρμοδιοτήτων και έργων των Ειδικών Υπηρεσιών Δημοσίων Έργων ΕΥΔΕ ΒΟΑΚ και ΕΥΔΕ Αποσελέμη.
Η εταιρεία λειτουργεί προς όφελος του δημόσιου συμφέροντος, είναι επιχείρηση κοινής ωφέλειας αφού παρέχει αγαθά και υπηρεσίες που εξυπηρετούν άμεσα δημόσιους σκοπούς, ενώ εποπτεύεται από το Υπουργείο Υποδομών και Μεταφορών.
Οι σκοποί λειτουργίας του Ο.Α.Κ. Α.Ε., μεταξύ άλλων είναι:
-Η αξιοποίηση, η προστασία, η ορθολογική διαχείριση των υδατικών πόρων και η προστασία του περιβάλλοντος μέσω αναπτυξιακών σχεδίων (ταμιευτήρες, βιολογικοί καθαρισμοί, ανάπτυξη έργων ΑΠΕ).
-Η ολοκλήρωση των μεγάλων έργων οδοποιίας της Κρήτης. Ο Ο.Α.Κ. Α.Ε. έχει ως αρμοδιότητα την εκπόνηση μελετών και εκτέλεση έργων στον ΒΟΑΚ και στο λοιπό δίκτυο Κρήτης
-Η εκπόνηση προγραμμάτων ανάπτυξης της Περιφέρειας Κρήτης, η μελέτη, η χρηματοδότηση, η εκτέλεση, η λειτουργία, η αξιοποίηση έργων κοινωφελών και δημόσιου ενδιαφέροντος.

ΠΑΝΕΛΛΗΝΙΙΑ ΕΝΩΣΗ ΦΑΡΜΑΚΟΒΙΟΜΗΧΑΝΙΑΣ
H Πανελλήνια Ένωση Φαρμακοβιομηχανίας (ΠΕΦ) αντιπροσωπεύει τις θέσεις της εγχώριας βιομηχανίας φαρμάκου, ενός από τους πιο καινοτόμους, παραγωγικούς κλάδους της ελληνικής οικονομίας, με έντονο αναπτυξιακό και εξαγωγικό αποτύπωμα.
Οι ελληνικές φαρμακοβιομηχανίες δραστηριοποιούνται στην παραγωγή γενοσήμων φαρμάκων με εμπορική ονομασία – branded generics), καθώς και στην ανάπτυξη φαρμάκων Προστιθέμενης Αξίας τα οποία ενσωματώνουν εμπορικά αξιοποιήσιμη καινοτομία, εφαρμόζοντας πιστά τα πρότυπα της διασφάλισης ποιότητας (QA) και τους κανόνες ορθής βιομηχανικής παραγωγής (GMP).
Η ΠΕΦ αριθμεί 50 εταιρείες- μέλη, εκ των οποίων 32 βιομηχανίες φαρμάκου με 45 εργοστάσια, όπου αναπτύσσονται και παράγονται φάρμακα άριστης ποιότητας με καινοτόμες μεθόδους και με τη χρήση τεχνολογίας αιχμής, σύμφωνα με τα υψηλά ευρωπαϊκά πρότυπα ποιότητας και ασφάλειας. Το ελληνικό φάρμακο ως το 2ο πιο εξαγώγιμο προϊόν, εξάγεται σήμερα σε περισσότερες από 140 χώρες και ελέγχεται από ισάριθμους οργανισμούς φαρμάκων.
Το αναπτυξιακό αποτύπωμα της ελληνικής φαρμακοβιομηχανίας στην ελληνική οικονομία είναι έντονο. Με επενδυτικά προγράμματα συνολικού ύψους 1,2 δις ευρώ σε βάθος τετραετίας, ο κλάδος αποτελεί «καταλύτη» στην ανάκαμψη της ελληνικής οικονομίας. Οι επενδύσεις αυτές έχουν μοναδική πολλαπλασιαστική αξία για την ελληνική οικονομία, καθώς η συνολική επίδρασή τους στο ΑΕΠ αγγίζει το 129% της επενδυτικής δαπάνης (Μελέτη ΙΟΒΕ/2020) και ενισχύουν την απασχόληση με νέες θέσεις εργασίας υψηλής εξειδίκευσης. Σκοπός της ΠΕΦ είναι να συμβάλλει στη δημιουργία ομαλών συνθηκών λειτουργίας στην ελληνική φαρμακευτική αγορά, στην πρόοδο της φαρμακευτικής επιστήμης προς όφελος των ασθενών και στην πλήρη κάλυψη της ελληνικής φαρμακευτικής αγοράς, με φάρμακα άριστης ποιότητας.
